Haven Community Services Inc. was founded in 2021.
Graduating from SAIT in 2013 with a Legal Assistant Diploma, Amani’s career took a pivotal turn when she assumed a significant role as a Judicial Court Clerk in Family & Youth at the Provincial Court of Alberta. With over eight years of experience, she developed an in-depth understanding of Family and Child Protection Legislation, including the Family Law Act, Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act, Youth Criminal Justice Act, Mental Health Act, Protection Against Children Abusing Drugs Act, and the Protection of Sexually Exploited Children Act. Her expertise also extends to Emergency Protection Orders, Restraining Orders, and other critical Court procedures.
The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic revealed significant gaps in supervised visitation services, particularly for families facing lengthy wait times. Witnessing this firsthand, Amani recognized the pressing need for accessible and timely supervised visitation solutions and initiated efforts to improve the process – ensuring families could maintain essential connections during challenging times.
Committed to professional growth, Amani holds diverse credentials, including a Paralegal Program Certificate and experience as a Family Law & Civil Paralegal. She has completed training in Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR/AED Level B, Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C, and attended various parenting workshops. Additionally, she completed the Brain Story Certification through Alberta Family Wellness, a Suicide Intervention Course, Respect in the Workplace training, and volunteered as a Peer Support Worker for the Justice Solicitor General, further enhancing her skills in community support and workplace harmony.
Fluent in both English and Arabic, Amani is able to connect with and support a broad range of families and communities.
She continues to make a positive impact by volunteering her time and providing valuable assistance to peers and the community beyond her professional role.
